Splish Splash

Posted by: emmagh on: June 22, 2010

Emma has been going to a swim class and loves splashing in the water.  Her favorites are when Daddy helps her jump off the edge into the pool and when he whirls her around in fast circles.  She also likes chasing balls in the pool.

Emma and I have been going through a couple of difficult weeks of clinginess.  She seems to feel most secure when both of us are around, but when Daddy leaves for work she will hardly leave my side (or vice versa if she is alone with him).  As soon as Daddy arrives home, she zooms off on her own, or if we are with other people, she plays really well independently.  We discovered a couple of days ago that a molar is pushing through.  We aren’t sure if this is related to her clinginess due to the pain.  She seemed to do a little better today with venturing out on her own.

We can hardly believe how fast Emma is growing.  We can tell that she wants to take steps on her own and she actually made a small attempt yesterday, but she is quite cautious and also not getting as much practice with this clingy phase.  We will keep you posted!

That is really cool that emma is in swim classes. She is getting so big. I have had a bit of a rough patch with my grandpa dieing, it has been really hard for me. I still have Emma’s birthday gifts and was thinking maybe i could drop them off on Monday or Tuesday, those are my days off. Let me know what works for you.

Laura, We are so sorry to hear about your grandfather.  I lost a grandmother this year as well, and I especially miss her during family get-togethers.  Either Monday or Tuesday works just fine for us.  Let us know what time you plan to come so we can plan to be at home.  The only thing we have going is swim class on Monday at 6:30pm.  We are leaving for a weekend up north to celebrate my birthday, but we will be home Saturday night, possibly Sunday at the latest.  But I can check email while we are away.  Talk to you soon, Lori
